You Will Love These Highlights Of A Massage Chair

March 10th, 2010

The massage chair has become a very hot item in the market today because it is quite impossible to replicate the effect of human touch and many massage chair manufacturers have come close. Below is a list of the seven benefits you will find in owning your own massage chair.

1. A massage chair is convenient. Getting a massage from a therapist means that you have to call to make an appointment, drive all the way to the spa center, and wait forever in line. Having a massage chair right inside your home is a lot more convenient, as you do not have to leave the house, wait for your turn or go search for a reliable therapist. You can have a relaxing massage therapy without having to stress yourself or go through all the trouble.

2. Spa centers are usually packed with people and getting a massage can mean having to wait in line for hours. If you have a massage chair inside your home, you can get a relaxing therapy anytime you want without having to book an appointment.

3. A massage chair comes in reasonable price. Sure, massage chairs can be quite pricey as they cost around $1000 to a whopping $5000. However, if you think of a massage chair as a long-term investment for your health, this would seem like a small price to pay if in exchange of this, you would be able to get optimal relaxation and health improvement. Moreover, if you calculate the price that you would have to pay for a therapist each time you would want to get a massage, this one-time expense can be less costly.

4. Some people are not comfortable with the idea of getting a massage in public (vending massage chairs) or in front of a total stranger (massage therapists). With a massage chair, you can enjoy the benefits of a massage therapy in the privacy of your own home. A massage chair can give you a private massage.

5. Most manufacturers of massage chairs utilize high-tech engineering and high quality materials to produce an efficient and reliable electronic massage chair. Some chairs even come with additional components designed for maximum relaxation (MP3 player, recliner, heating system). Massage chairs are a hot item in the market because they are made with advanced state of the art technology.

6. A massage chair can be a nice addition to your living room. Aside from providing a soothing massage therapy, this chair can also double as a piece of furniture that can add beauty and class to your home.

7. With a massage chair, you can do away with the guessing game. You can easily adjust the chair’s intensity and speed to get a massage therapy that feels right for you. So put on some relaxing music and let the chair smooth away that stress.

After you buy yourself that massage chair and start to feel it’s soothing powers, only then will you come to appreciate what this list really means.

Massage chairs come in different shapes and sizes. When shopping for a massage chair there are many features to consider.

Top Three Techniques For Effective Executive Meeting Planning And Organizing

March 9th, 2010

On the subject of effective meeting planning and scheduling, the main thing to keep in mind is actually the planning itself. If you don’t plan it well, it won’t go well. This actually means that… You really shouldn’t over plan it, either. Rather, have an idea in mind, and then just get the meeting over and done with. If you try to plan out every single minute of the meeting, you won’t accomplish much, as breakthroughs don’t happen on a restrictive time frame.

So plan your meetings around just one or two goals or subjects, know what points you’re hoping to make during the meeting, and just leave it at that. Don’t write an itinerary, don’t try to solve every single problem the company has all at the same time, just keep a clear head on what you need to get done and let the meeting develop at its own pace. Here are a few things to keep in mind when you plan your next meeting.

You Shouldn’t Get Too Ambitious

Again, you won’t solve every problem in the company in a single meeting. Plan to keep your meeting focused on just one subject and keep it focused on that subject. Don’t think you’re going to make your own name on the Fortune 500 after a single meeting. If you get too ambitious, the only thing you’ll succeed is in frustrating your employees and confusing them. You won’t really accomplish anything because unless you’re focused, you can’t accomplish much, so set your sights realistically.

Stay Focused

Set one goal, let your people know what that goal is, and achieve it during the meeting. Just one goal. If you give them a dozen things to do, they won’t know where to start, so give them just one goal and they’ll march right towards it over the course of the meeting. Again, it’s all about focus and simplicity. When we over-complicate everything, it tends to show a lack of confidence, as if more planning will make up for a lack of skill or competency. To a true master, everything is made simple.

Hold The Meeting Around Lunch Time

This is the best time to hold a meeting, as your people are all woken up. After lunch, they just want to go home. Before their morning coffee, they wish they were still sleeping. Hold the meeting around midday when your people are actually in the mood to help you out and provide a few ideas of their own! Remember, these are people, not robots, and catching them when they’re in just the right mood is actually a major component of leadership.

Tips For Gay Travel To Ireland

March 8th, 2010

Gay vacations to Ireland have been a popular choice dating back to at least the time of Oscar Wilde. While Ireland may not have been nearly as LGBT-friendly in his time, it has come a long way since the days of folks - like Wilde - being sent to hard labor camps or jail for what was then known as “indecency.” In fact, up until 1861 the act of sodomy was punishable by death, but today Ireland has recently moved ahead of the U.S. when it comes to LGBT rights by legalizing civil unions for same-sex couples in 2009, after decriminalizing homosexuality in 1993.

While these significant legal strides might not mean that every village - or even every larger city - is ready to fully embrace same-sex relationships, Ireland has become a rather welcoming country for the most part and is a wonderful choice for gay travel. Many larger cities, such as Galway, Dublin, Cork and Waterford, have active, visible communities, LGBT-owned and LGBT-friendly establishments, and enough attractions and activities to fill an entire trip; however, whether you travel to Ireland solo or with organized gay tours, you will not want to miss the beautiful Irish countryside or the quaint, small villages that are scattered about the landscape or overlooking awe-inspiring coastal cliffs.

There are now many Irish cities that have LGBT organizations, popular hangouts, annual celebrations and a thriving community, but Dublin remains the unquestionable center of Irish LGBT life, making it an absolute must-see during gay travel to Ireland. The nightlife in Dublin is an interesting blend of upscale clubs with dress codes and a casual LGBT pub scene, which allows those on gay vacations to Ireland to experience different aspects of LGBT life in Dublin. Depending on when you arrive, you may also have the opportunity to take part in one of Dublin’s annual community events, including the Dublin Lesbian and Gay Film Festival in July, Dublin International LGBTQ Pride in June, and the popular Dublin Gay Theatre Festival, which takes place each May.

There is always something going on in Dublin, on either a small or large scale, so it is a good idea to pick up a copy of GNC, Ireland’s main community magazine, when you arrive in town. There are many must-see attractions when partaking in gay travel in Dublin, including the Guinness Storehouse, the Old Jameson Distillery, the Hugh Lane Gallery, the Book of Kells, the Oscar Wilde House Museum and Dublin’s quintessential LGBT bar, The George.

Folks planning gay tours should consider partaking in group gay tours to ensure that they do not miss out on the plethora of historical, cultural and natural attractions that this intriguing, romantic nation has to offer.

What Makes A Good Salesperson?

March 7th, 2010

Almost every writer on marketing and sales and some time comes round to the tricky question of what makes a great salesperson.

In fact this is a hugely difficult question to answer. Everyone’s views are naturally biased by their own unique experience. And one persons experience can never match up to hard evidence from research. But in a field where there has been relatively little rigorous research, the voice of experience can add depth and flavour.

I’ve been lucky enough to work with hundreds of salespeople from over 20 different countries - so at least my own personal, biased thoughts are based on a reasonably large and diverse sample.

So here we go: my view on the top 4 defining characteristics of great salespeople.

1. Passion. All great salespeople truly believe in the product or service they’re selling. This belief infuses everything they do and rubs off on customers. It makes the salesperson much more trustworthy.

Sometimes people joke that “if you can fake sincerity, you’ve got it made”. But my experience has been that customers can easily spot this. It’s impossible to fake real passion. You either need to find passion for your products and services, or find other products and services to sell.

2. Likeability. If your customer don’t like you, the conversation very rarely gets any further. It’s the starting point for trust and relationship building.

Now it is possible to trust someone without liking them. But in the world of sales, someone who isn’t likeable never gets the opportunity to prove their trustworthiness. It’s a basic pre-requisite to building relationships.

3. Resilience. Pretty much the only thing that can be guaranteed in sales is that you will face rejection. And often. Successful sellers just can’t afford to need everyone to love them. They need a think skin.

4. Willingness and Energy to Learn. The pace of change and the need to continually adapt and improve approaches has never been as great as it is today. The salesperson who commits to continuous learning, and applies themselves wholeheartedly will soon catch up and outpace more talented rivals who rest on their laurels.

So that’s my little shortlist. Passion, likeability, resilience and continuous learning. If you’ve got a good measure of each of these, you’ll be a great success in sales.

Trainings To Control Your Anger

March 5th, 2010

Anger issues are different from other psychological problems like anxiety disorder for the mere fact that it is not a mental disorder. Mental disorders often leave the sufferer in, well, suffering. Anger management problems, on the other hand, leave destruction in its wake. One similarity is the presence of irrational thought. For instance, anxiety disorder sufferers fear the next anxiety attack or have irrational fears of places or people that may trigger their anxiety attacks. Anger is the same way. When there is no longer room for anger, it goes straight up to the head and replaces rational thought; influencing behavior to become of aggressive or violent nature.

Anger can be controlled and it should be. But people easily misunderstand that to not letting it out. They hold their anger back until it reaches the point that it already builds up and there’s no more room for it, enough for them to let it all out in a single blow. Doing this isn’t a good idea. It will only make the situation worse. Others think that anger control training is all about learning how not to feel anger. That is one big misconception. And so the question is, what is anger control training all about? Anger control is simply channeling your anger into something that is more productive. You can do this all by yourself or with the help of a therapist. To give you a better idea, read this:

With a therapist: Psychotherapy, to be exact. Undergoing psychotherapy, particularly cognitive therapy or cognitive behavioral therapy, can let you reach the desired results really fast. You may have read a lot about cognitive therapy. It deals specifically with thoughts and thought patterns. Anger follows a pattern. All the therapist needs is the object or person that makes you angry, and the details and specifics on what exactly makes you angry. Therapists will use this information and make you realize how your emotions distort the way you see things. The only hurdle here is the courage to see a therapist.

Alone: Controlling your anger all by yourself can give you the results at a faster pace. The only thing is that, this will only happen if you overcome these three conditions: First, you accept that your problem is real and not just “all in your mind”. Second, you know what makes you angry. Third, you must have the determination to keep your conscious thought and not let anger take over your mind. If you overcome these obstacles, there’s a good possibility that you can get the results you desire.

There’s not much difference or advantage between doing your anger control training alone or with a therapist. The important thing is that you take actions and is determined to reach your goal which is to control your anger problems.
